Noveltech Audio

Noveltech Audio is a new business unit of Noveltech Solutions Ltd and focuses on innovative hi-quality audio processing technologies. Noveltech Solutions is a technology transfer company formed in the year 2000 to commercialize technologies resulting from the scientific research in various application fields.

History

A signal processing method has been developed in the field of spectroscopy for the purpose to improve the spectral resolution in spectrometers (instruments used for the study of the molecular structure of various gases). Dr. Ismo Kauppinen, Board Member of Noveltech Solutions, applied and further developed these fundamental principles to mathematically reconstruct missing sections in audio signal as his PhD study. As a result a successful method for reconstruction of missing or damaged audio signal was developed. This technology was then licensed to TC Electronic, a Danish pro-audio company who released it as a part of RESTORATION SUITE, a bundle of high-end audio restoration plug-ins for TC's own PowerCore platform in August 2003. Noveltech and TC Electronic together decided to continue the feature set of RESTORATION SUITE with the goal to deliver the best and most complete restoration solution.

Dr. Kauppinen's desire to overcome the disadvantages of conventional sound-shaping tools led to the development of another invention, the Intelligent Adaptive Filtering (IAF) technology. The first incarnation of the technology is the CHARACTER™ plug-in for TC's PowerCore platform. The CHARACTER™ plug-in is the first pro-audio product branded under the name NOVELTECH.
